A four-week experience in Costa Rica
Targeted mainly at college students, working adults, and business people from the United States, Canada, Brazil, Europe and Asia, who would like to immerse in a 1-month intensive Spanish Program based in Costa Rica.
The main program is a 4 week, 4-hours a day, totaling 80-hour + 16 hours project with a final presentation, aimed at allowing students to reach a basic conversational level in Spanish. Tailor made programs also available upon request.
WIZARD is a leading language franchise with over 30 years of teaching experience and fully owned by Pearson Education. The Program is ofered by WIZARD Costa Rica, the Oficial Master Franchise of Costa Rica.

June From June 5 to 30 (arrival in Costa Rica by June 4 am)
July From July 3 to 28 (arrival in Costa Rica by July 2 am)
August From July 31 to Aug. 25 (arrival in Costa Rica by July 30 am)
** Other dates: Programs usually begins on the first Monday of every month. Longer and tailor-made Programs also available.
Arrival Date & Orientation Meeting:
Students should be in San Jose on the Sunday prior to the first day of classes, by 4pm at WIZARD Heredia at Centro Comercial
Torres de Heredia. Ater this orientation session, the students will be guided to their respective accommodation. Students who
miss the orientation meeting will need to find their own way to their respective accommodation and meet WIZARD staf at first
day of classes.
This course seeks to prepare students in the development of the four language skills in the Spanish language. Given the essential
role that languages currently play in professional and social contexts, this program is intended to provide an opportunity not only
to overcome the barrier of monolingualism but also to become a tool for the development of a foreign language, personal growth
and cultural exchange.
Classes will follow a neurolinguistic approach and will recreate situations where the exchange of ideas and experiences as well as
interaction with others are enhanced in order to develop a new communication system.

Students could opt to stay in a local family house or in a lat / hotel of their choice. Wizard will advise and guide students with their accommodation alternatives but Wizard will not be responsible for accommodation services.

Note: Although Wizard is not responsible for the services provided by the room and board local providers, most of the host families recommended by Wizard have previous experience accommodating international students.
If you opt for Family Room accommodation, specify in your application form and our Program Manager (contact below) will make the matching and reservation with the host family. They payment should be made in Cash in the Orientation Coffee.

Travel Insurance and 24 hour Emergency Support, VISA and Vaccine
Every Student must provide a travel insurance, which covers travel and medical emergencies, valid for the duration of the stay, before arriving in Costa Rica. Our Program Coordinator can provide local insurance company providers if necessary. Students should send a copy of their insurance policy prior to arriving in Costa Rica.
Visa and yellow fever vaccine:
A travel visa is not required for US citizens, Canadians, Brazilians, Europeans and Australians. Please check with the local Costa Rican consulate if your country is required to have a VISA prior to coming to the Program. Students traveling from Brazil, and many other southern-hemisphere countries, are required to take the yellow fever shot at least 14 days before arriving in Costa Rica. If you are traveling from the northeast-hemisphere you do not need a yellow fever vaccine.
Cancelation and Reimbursement Policy
Cancelation made in written form by:
a) 30 days prior to the beginning of the program: 80% refund
b) 15 days prior to the beginning of the program: 50% refund
c) 5 days prior to the beginning of the program: 20% refund
Cancelations received 4 days or less before the program starts will not be reimbursed.
